Manchester United fans were furious after seeing Moussa Sissoko appear as striking Daniel James in their pre-season friendly against Tottenham.
James was protecting the ball near the corner flag before Sissoko sent him a tough challenge from behind, leaving the Welshman writhing with pain on the floor in the middle of the first half.
Before United's winger could get back on his feet, the French international seemed to have let his foot go too long and plunged his stallions into James' belly.

James remained lying on the ground after the incident – Sissoko was not booked
Sissoko had already gripped James at the edge of the box, giving United a free kick in Shanghai.
Dele Alli had been booked for a challenge against Scott McTominay during the preliminary rounds, while Andreas Pereira was warned of a difficult challenge for Harry Kane and that Japhet Tangana had been awarded a card for a foul on the Greenwood Mason .
But it was Sissoko on James who betrayed the "friendly" story of the match and the incident caused a scrum between the two groups of players on the field, who saw them standing in front of them before the referee be obliged to separate them.
The reluctance of the umpire to brandish a yellow card for this card has once again fueled fire among United's players and supporters. Sissoko was saved from scratch for the seemingly unsavory incident.
There is no danger that Sissoko will be banned from the Premier League. The International Champions Cup is not a competition run by the FA. Sissoko will not miss the opening game of Tottenham with Aston Villa in suspension.
Fans immediately contacted Twitter to express their anger at Sissoko's actions. "It's disgusting to Sissoko," wrote a United fan after the stamp.
"Sissoko with the shameful and deliberate mark on Dan James, pathetic!
United, who had already qualified through a goal from Anthony Martial, canceled the changes at halftime, which means James did not come out for the second period.
Lucas Moura leveled the score midway through the second period, before Angel Gomes won for United with 10 minutes remaining after a great match with Juan Mata.
