Manchester United think they are used "to hold an auction" of Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina.
Lemina was the surprise target of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team this week, with Arsenal also ask about for the Gabonese international.
The player himself has since talked about speculation, stressing his desire to leave Southampton but stay in the Premier League.
But the Manchester Evening News reports that "United's main sources" do not take links seriously, because they feel they are used "to try to win an auction".
Their "deemed interest" for Lemina has been "downplayed", with more serious targets for Bruno Fernandes and Sean Longstaff.
It is claimed that Lemina "Could leave" Southampton "for about" £ 30 million ", thanks to his club record of Juventus, for which he played in the final of the 2017 Champions League, turning out badly.
United were says close on Fernandes and Longstaff at the beginning of the month, but both tracks seem to have been cold for the moment.
