Paul Ince criticized Manchester United for spending huge sums of money on players who failed to “hit the ground”.
The Red Devils have shelled out just under £ 700million over the past five seasons and the only trophies they’ve won during this time are the EFL Cup and Europa League in 2017.
The club’s major signing last summer was Donny van de Beek’s £ 40million purchase from Ajax, but the Dutchman endured a scorching first campaign at Old Trafford.

Ince claims Murtough faces an uphill battle to put together a squad worthy of playing for United as he pointed to their marked decline from a squad full of ‘heroes’ to a squad with only one.
“When you’re director of football at a club like Manchester United you have to accept right away that the fans want to see players fit enough to wear the shirt,” said Paul Ince, speaking exclusively to Ladbrokes .
“Too many times in the past we’ve seen players come in and fail. I think when you’re so big on the players they have to kick in like Bruno Fernandes.
