German giant Bayern Munich has revealed the prize to veteran defender and 2014 world champion Jerome Boateng.
It has become clear that Niko Kovac will remain Bayern's boss for the coming season, which could trigger the end of Boateng's eight-year stay at the Allianz Arena after a brief stint in Manchester City.
The 30-year-old boy was out of breath after a frustrating season, accusing Bayern officials and the coach of not keeping his word.
According to Bild, Bayern President Uli Hoeness said during their double celebration: "I would recommend leaving the club, I think it's a new challenge."
Under Kovac, the German international missed 11 Bundesliga matches and spent every game on the bench for 90 minutes.
In the important matches of the second half of the season, Boateng found himself in second choice, admitted the defender: "Since then, [I had] no chance, because I could turn around and play well, I was still in some games. "
Boateng's contract was not signed until the end of 2021 with the Bavarian club, but it is now available for around 20 million pounds sterling.
By 2018, the move to Paris had been contemplated, with a bid of 32 million euros presented by PSG before Bayern increased its asking price by seeking at least 38 million euros.
Before the transfer being completely rejected.
After the signatures of Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Hernandez, the competition for a defensive spot this season is even more difficult.
Negotiations and a potential war between Manchester United and Arsenal are going to take place.
