Tuanzebe was loaned last season to Aston Villa, impressive as Dean Smith's team was promoted from the championship.
The 21-year-old has played for Manchester United on their pre-season tour of Australia and Asia, with Solskjaer looking to sign a central defender this summer.
Tuanzebe was impressed in the 1-0 win over Inter Milan on Saturday, alongside Victor Lindelof in defense.
And Solskjaer thinks Tuanzebe can have a long and successful career with the Red Devils.
"He has a future at Man United yes, of course he has some," said Solskjaer.
"Today was a test for him against different opponents, we know he can play at this level, so he did not play against Leeds and he now shows he's very capable to play at this level.
"Axel is going to be the future of this club."
Manchester United will be the next player to face Tottenham on Thursday.
United has just opened its Premier League campaign against Chelsea on Sunday, August 11th.
Solskjaer should be busy in the coming weeks of the transfer as he looks to strengthen his team before the start of the season.
And the Norwegian wants players who can have an immediate impact.
He recently said: "It does not matter if they are English, Norwegian, French and Brazilian.
"You just want good players and good people.
"Quality and speed are of course important things in football these days.
"The more factors you have in a team, the better you are."
