The Red Devils received an offer of 70 million pounds, including extensions, and were turned down for Maguire before touring Australia this weekend.

The Foxes want £ 90 million for the England central defender, but there is still hope that an agreement can still be reached.

United will make another bid before the market closes, with an upfront valuation on Manchester City, which estimates it's worth around £ 65 million.

Maguire would become the world's most expensive defender, beating the £ 75m Virgil van Dijk when he moved from Southampton to Liverpool.

But United has been put off by midfielder Longstaff.

Newcastle wants £ 50m for a player who has only nine appearances in the Premier League.

United will pay £ 20m and think that an agreement would be reached.

But they were left stunned during the badessment and will now look elsewhere.

Longstaff, 21, was also shocked by this figure, which deprives him of his decision to move to Old Trafford.

There are no other clubs for him and the manager of the Red Devils, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, will not pay too much for the players.

He said: "We are always on the market looking for business, but we are patient, we are in Manchester United, we do not have to sell or pay too much.

"You must have the right players at the right price. If you look at the team we have, there are a lot of good players. "

United yesterday told Inter Milan that they had to find £ 75m or forget to sign Romelu Lukaku.

Inter's athletic director, Piero Ausilio, met with United Executive Vice President Ed Woodward.

Antonio Conte, the coach of the Italians, wants the Belgian, 26, to be his main man in front.

SunSport believes however that United will not yield to the £ 75m valuation.
