Man Utd gives a boost to DOUBLE Champions League before the shock of PSG

Manchester United have received two huge wins before their Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

Edinson Cavani and Thomas Meunier were eliminated in PSG's Ligue 1 win against Bordeaux on Saturday.

PSG striker Cavani scored the only goal from the penalty spot in the 42nd minute, while the defending champions remained at the top of the French league standings.

But the striker failed to reappear after halftime after seeming to modify a thigh muscle.

Rear Meunier, who got the penalty, is complaining of feeling sick after a headshot in the 80th minute.

It is difficult to know if the Belgian international suffered a concussion, which would make him leave the match.

After the match, Thomas Tuchel said: "If he shifts the ball after 43 minutes, I'm obviously worried, hitting the ball and having to lose it is worrying.

"If Edi is not in Manchester, of course, it's big, yes, there was a lot of bad luck, we do not have a 2nd Edi or Neymar."

Cavani is now a doubt for the clash with United

The Red Devils will face PSG at Old Trafford in the last 16 of the European competition on Tuesday.

PSG will already be without Neymar, a man of 200 million pounds for the match, absent for several weeks with a problem of metatarsal and ankle.

The Paris club has left Kylian Mbappe, winner of the World Cup in France, on the bench against the Girondins at Parc des Princes.

And they also packed three of their potential starters in Manchester with cotton wool leaving them completely out of the way.

Former Angolan and Argentine winger Angel Di Maria, Brazilian defender Marquinhos and German midfielder Julian Draxler were all forgotten last night.

Marco Verratti, victim of an ankle injury, got a thumbs up and left for 58 minutes.

And Verratti now has a real chance of being involved with Old Trafford – although it is still unlikely to play 90 minutes.
