Daniel James has been compared to Brazilian legend Ronaldo – and Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt.

Welsh winger James will finish his best game for Manchester United this week with his £ 18 million team after returning from his international mission.

The 21-year-old should start against Hungary on Wednesday and opposition boss Marco Rossi was blown away by his pace.

"James' speed is reminiscent of Usain Bolt – being as fast as he is is really incredible," Rossi said at his pre-game press conference.

"In recent years, I do not remember the player who gave me that feeling.

"His acceleration is so special, that's why Manchester United has bought it."

The 21-year-old has already made his mark on the international scene by scoring the winner of Wales in his first qualifying match at Euro 2020 against Slovakia in March.

And Rossi said he noticed similarities with Ronaldo, who played for both AC and for Inter Milan, won the World Cup twice with Brazil and was three-time player World of the year.

He said: "I played against a very fast player who, in my opinion, was the best after Maradona – Ronaldo.

"He was just not known for his speed, but for everything.

"His acceleration was similar to that of James, but for the moment, the skills are a little different."

Hungary ranks first in Group E, three points over Wales, third, after defeating world champion Croatia, beating Azerbaijan 3-1 on Saturday.

The win, however, was expensive because Rossi was sent to the stands to challenge a decision of the referee. The 54-year-old will serve a ban on Tuesday at Groupama Arena in Budapest.
