Mr. Victor Mframa, head of plans for the Kwahu South District in the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (NACAP), called on Ghanaians to demand more transparency and accountability from those in charge. the framework of efforts to promote economic development.

He urged citizens to be equally responsible and accountable to those in charge by paying their taxes and fees to the government and various district and municipal bademblies.

Mr. Mframa was speaking at a social audit in Kwahu Asakraka, where citizens were called to act against corruption.

The forum was organized by the secretariat of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) of South Kwahu District and was titled "Citizens for Transparency and Accountability".

He added that corruption, presumed or proven, continued to jeopardize the prosperity and economic progress of the country, describing as appropriate support for the Commission to allow citizens to avoid the chancre.

Mr. Mframa said that corruption has a negative effect on the economy and also tends to affect marginalized people, as women, children and people with reduced mobility are the most affected.

Mframa urged citizens to vote for leaders determined to meet their social and economic needs and challenges.

The public was encouraged to report alleged acts of corruption to the offices of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice, the Ghana Police, the Office of Economic and Organized Crime and the Ghana Police.

Ms. Tickler Asiamah-Asante, NCCE District Director, said the program was intended to promote community ownership and ownership of development projects and to raise awareness of the activities of the badembly.

She urged community members to hold those responsible, especially local government officials, accountable by demanding responses to the needs of their evaluation plans for their region.

Mr. Emmanuel Atta Ofori, District Director, said it was essential that community members monitor development activities, monitor the sustainable use of resources and also ask their leaders to provide the services expected.

The WFD urged citizens not to hesitate to visit the various district and municipal bademblies to demand transparency and accountability when the need arises.

At the end of the program, an action plan was developed based on the top five priorities raised by the community and a four-member committee was put in place to monitor the action plan.
