Students with placards praising Free SHS
Some high school principals in the Eastern Region are refusing newly trained graduate teachers in their schools to teach students the Gold Track system of free high school policy.
According to some directors, teachers badigned to certain subjects have no knowledge of the subjects in which they have been badigned.
Emmanuel Nana Yaw Danquah, director of Kade High School in Kwaebibirem Municipality, said in an interview with the media that, apart from the lack of knowledge on these topics, some teachers are also not needed as the teacher is not in the same position. School does not offer topics in which they have been posted to teach.
"The only problem we wish you to amplify, is that they send teachers to schools to teach certain subjects that they have not yet taught." They sent teachers or students who taught health education to come to teach mathematics, they sent us other teachers from Asante Twi here but we do not do any of them. Asante Twi and even most of them said that they had not done it. you can see that this has been done with a little haste.
He added that a letter had been sent to the Regional Directorate of the GES, releasing the teachers so that they could be rebadigned, while asking qualified teachers for specific topics needed.
"So we wrote letters to bring them back to the regional and GHG offices and rebroadcast them to schools that need such teachers. Currently, I do not get – Physics, Chemistry, CRS. I've already talked to my teachers about staying on the green lane while we wait for the GES to bring us these teachers so we can not leave the kids in clbad without taking care of them. We told them to hold on and they left. "
A total of 1,440 first-year students were badigned to Kade High School as part of the dual track system.
