Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial both resumed training on Friday in anticipation of the Manchester United pre-season game.

The two men were both absent from United's open training session in front of about 12,000 spectators at WACA on Thursday. The club confirmed that they were working away from the main group in the gym.

Lukaku reportedly had a "small problem" that prevented him from joining the rest of the group on Thursday, but both were fully involved in training Friday before the match against Perth Glory on Saturday.

Luke Shaw, who had to end Thursday's knee training session, also took part in the session. Solskjaer explained how important it was to pbad the pre-season without injury.

"You want to get everyone going and you want to get through it without fail, and lose three or four days," Solskjaer told MUTV. "I was part of it myself when the pre-seasons are stopped and started, you do not make your pace.

"But the season is long and if you have these six weeks, the league starts and there are still three to four weeks where we only have one game a week, which allows us to do a good job as well."

"So, let's see, I'm sure when the league starts, we'll be ready, well placed and fit."
