Manchester United news: Alexis Sanchez accused of having lost hunger while Henrikh Mkhitaryan "does not know what he does" at Arsenal

Alexis Sanchez has been accused of having lost confidence in himself and his hunger in Manchester United, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan appears to "not know what he's doing" at Arsenal.

Two players experienced at the highest level of seats traded during the transfer window of January of 2018.

After landing his contract at Emirates Stadium, Sanchez chose to trade Manchester against North London.

As he headed for the capital, Mkhitaryan turned around after falling out of favor with Old Trafford, led by Jose Mourinho.

Neither had the desired impact in a new environment, with Sanchez launching the debate on another possible move after only five goals for United's cause.

Former midfielder Arsenal Paul Merson said Sky sports since the departure of the Gunners: "I hope we will see old Sanchez, but I do not see the confidence or hunger in his eyes anymore.

"When you mentioned Alexis Sanchez, the first idea that came to mind was that he was working in socks, so he decided to change jobs.

"For the quality he owns as a player, he works as hard as anyone, but I do not see him anymore.

"Sanchez has lost hunger and it's a pity. It's sad because he was good. "

Another former artilleryman, Charlie Nicholas, agrees with Sanchez's badessment and believes that Mkhitaryan has not achieved better results in his 12 months at Arsenal.

He added, "I think that's right. It is the same frustration for Arsenal with respect to Mkhitaryan, who has suffered exactly the same fate: he does not know what he is doing even though he is a smart footballer.

"It hurts people to watch [what is happening to] Sanchez.

"He was a street fighter, a warrior, with talent. He now remains rigid on the left and gives the ball so often that it's scary, the level at which he plays.

"It will have an occasional blast of games but never as consistent as it has been in the past."

Sanchez has played 20 appearances with United this season. His latest drawing has been widely criticized.

He left the bench during a meeting between Paris and the Champions League last 16 Saint Germain, But the Red Devils had a 2-0 defeat, their first setback under the orders of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
