Paul Pogba and David De Gea are leading a group of seven people planning to leave Manchester United this summer, reports said.

The atmosphere at Old Trafford has improved since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho as manager and the team impressed both nationally and Europe.

But a number of players are still considering leaving the competition at the end of the season. United is not guaranteed to qualify for the Champions League next year.

According to the Sunday Times, Pogba and De Gea have both been tempted by the approaches of European clubs, the first interested in a move to Real Madrid.

Zinedine Zidane, who returned to the Bernabeu last month, is a well-known fan of Pogba and could also revive Real's interest in superstar goalkeeper De Gea.

Manchester United wants De Gea to sign a contract extension but is struggling to reach an agreement with the Spanish and worries about the interest shown by PSG and Juventus.

It seems that Romelu Lukaku, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata, Eric Bailly and Alexis Sanchez are also considering moving away from Old Trafford at the end of the season.

United spent £ 70 million in Lukaku two years ago, but the striker lost his place in the starting lineup against Englishman Marcus Rashford.

Midfielders Herrera and Mata have been closely linked to the respective movements of PSG and Barcelona, while the Times says Bailly is frustrated by the lack of time allotted to Solskjaer.

Alexis Sanchez, who joined United from Arsenal in January 2018, would have regretted the move and was preparing for a change of position this summer.

The Red Devils have been impressed since Solskjaer returned to the club, but were beaten by the Wolves last week, as their top four hopes were threatened.

Manchester United will face Barcelona in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Wednesday night.
