Manchester United leaders are preparing to test West Ham's determination as they try to lure Issa Diop to Old Trafford, reports the reports.

The Red Devils are determined to add central defenders to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team this summer. Harry Maguire should be at the top of their wish list.

However, Kalidou Koulibaly, central defender of Maguire and Napoli, is an expensive option, costing respectively 80 million and 100 million pounds.

Diop, who had impressed during his first season in the Premier League with Manuel Pellegrini in 2018/19, has turned out to be a potential alternative, supposed to cost a fraction of the price.

The Hammers spent £ 22 million on the Frenchman to take him to the London Stadium in Toulouse and can hope to at least double that figure if they choose to sell it.

United is ready to make a £ 45 million start bid while placing a player to put the deal on the other end, according to Sky Sports.

However, the leaders of West Ham want at least 60 million pounds sterling to let their precious property go.

If priority is the central defender, Solskjaer also wants a defender to be added to his team.

Discussions are underway with Crystal Palace about the transfer of Aaron Wan-Bissaka after an initial offer of £ 40 million was categorically refused.
