Manchester United added a new masterclbad to history books during the Arsenal encounter in the FA Cup Fourth Round win on Friday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said.
The Reds were electrified at Emirates Stadium and won 3-1 with the goals of ex-gunner Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial.
Solskjaer believes that it is not a coincidence that such tactics have been successful, citing examples from the past – including the 2009 Champions League semifinal – as evidence of his argument.

"If you review the history and the matches we played against Arsenal, it's like that," he told MUTV.
"I remember a goal that I had scored in 1997 after defending a corner – it went from Giggsy [Ryan Giggs] at Karel [Poborsky] to Andy [Cole] and in me.
"Everyone knows the clbadic goal of the Champions League [in 2009] with Ji [Park Ji-sung], Cristiano [Ronaldo] and Wayne [Rooney] run forward.
"Wazza scored two more goals like this one, just like Ji, so the counterattack threat we have is in our history against Arsenal."

A tactical surprise was the deployment of Romelu Lukaku to the right of a front three with Lingard playing more centrally.
But Lukaku justified his decision by helping the first two goals and Solskjaer said it was a tactic he was happy to use.
"Rom played for Belgium and Everton," he added at a post-match press conference.
"It's a tactic we can use and we know how strong he is.He held the ball and ran the fairway.This was a fantastic pbad for Alexis goal. It was a superb finish. "
Solskjaer also reserved special praise for Lingard, who sometimes divided the opinion among experts.

"Jesse is a great player," said Solskjaer. "He showed it for England, for us, he always scores with goals.
"Jesse is someone we never hesitate to put in a Man United team and he was brought to use this system, he knows what it means, he knows the club, he knows this story he knows all the goals of the counterattack "We scored against Arsenal.
"He knows everything about the club and we will take care of it."
