Marc Overmars confirmed that Ajax was in talks with Barcelona about a partnership where players could be loaned between the two clubs.
Former Arsenal player Overmars, who now heads the Dutch football club, said the Eredivisie were considering a collaboration that would allow young players from the Catalan giants to acquire a first team.
Ajax and Barcelona have been closely linked in recent years: Bojan Krkic was loaned to Holland by Spain, while Jesper Cillesen and Frenkie De Jong changed their minds.

According to the Dutch football website Voetbalzone, Overmars declined to say whether the Barca would get the first refusal on the center of demand, Matthijs De Ligt.
The Dutch international De Ligt has been badociated with several leading European clubs. Barca wants to be the successor of Gerard Pique, 19 years old.
Overmars said: "We know we are on good terms with Barcelona. They want to talk to us to see if they can lend us players.
