The Ghana Education Service (GES) has ordered all principals in Ghana to suspend this year’s March 6 celebrations and related activities in schools.
In a press release on Monday, signed by the deputy director general of the service, Anthony Boateng, he said that this directive is due to the “high prevalence rate of Covid-19 cases in the country”.
“Therefore, the leadership of the Ghana Education Service wishes to inform all regions that the 64th Independence Anniversary Parade on March 6, 2021 has been suspended,” the statement said.
The statement also urged all principals to ensure that its members comply with the advice.
This follows a letter dated February 11, 2021 and signed by the Chief of Staff and President of Ghana ordering the suspension of the March 6 celebrations of this year and all its related activities in the regional, metropolitan, municipal and provincial assemblies. district across the country.
