The Belgian international arrived at Old Trafford from Everton in August 2013 and then played 177 matches in United's five and a half seasons, scoring 22 goals.

"Everyone in United thanks Marouane for his service and wishes him good luck in the future as he completes his transfer to Shandong Luneng Taishan FC in China," said a statement posted on the United website.

Fellaini joins his compatriot international midfielder Mousa Dembele to trade the Premier League against the Chinese Super League after the 31-year-old signed for Guangzhou R & F; from Tottenham last month.
