Martin Keown called Maurizio Sarri "stupid" for keeping young Chelsea player Callum Hudson-Odoi on the bench, while the FA Cup holders withdrew from the competition at Manchester United.

The headlines of Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba in the first half gave the team of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who had never seemed to surrender, a considerable advantage.

Despite his team's inability to threaten US No. 2 Sergio Romero, Sarri steadfastly refused to introduce the teenager that the club fought so hard to keep in January, arousing strong interest from Bayern Munich.

The faithful of Stamford Bridge had already made known their feeling before the former coach of Napoli took the disconcerting decision to bring in the defender Davide Zappacosta in place of Cesar Azpilicueta.

In response to the change, BBC co-commentator Keown said: [Hudson-Odoi] probably wondering is not it?

"I mean that they have two goals behind and that he put a defender.

"It's a political gesture of the manager because it's stupid if it is."
