The involvement of Clark Gregg in Wonder SHIELD agents is a bit confusing at the moment, but in one form or another, Clark is officially back for SHIELDis the sixth season.
Despite the end of his days with Agent May in Tahiti at the end of season 5, Gregg's Phil Coulson seems to have made a comeback.
Before his return, SHIELD shared a set of new character posters for season 6 on Twitter, with Clark Gregg included – but even though the actor look like Phil Coulson, he turns out that he's rather playing a character called "sarge".
Gregg has already teased his new enigmatic role in the series, explaining that although Sarge looks a lot like Agent Coulson, fan favorite, "he's a different person". And not in a good way.
"These humanoid people come forward and one of them looks a lot like Coulson," he said. "He is naughty, dangerous and terrifying. It is a different person and it is hard for everyone to bear it, but especially with the agent May and Daisy."
