Tamale Teaching Hospital embarked on a mbad burial after overvoltages that damaged five refrigerators at its morgue.

"The biomedical engineering unit of the hospital was able to commission one of the refrigerators by replacing one of the defective outdoor units with an older unit," adds the communicated.
The hospital has accused the unfortunate incident of causing surges in the region on June 27, 2019.
The company responsible for repairing the refrigerators was also asked to speed up the work on the appliances so that the morgue could resume its activities.
"The electrical surges that occurred on June 27, 2019 at Tamale University Hospital damaged the electrical panels of the outdoor units of the five funeral refrigerators of the Department of Pathology. A survey of the Ghana Grid Company's control room (GRIDCo) confirmed [that] overvoltages resulted from problems with certain transmission lines. "
"The project subcontractors, Vamed BV, in charge of after-sales services for the refrigerators have been duly informed and are taking steps to replace the electrical panels of the outdoor units," the statement added.
It has been reported that a total of 24 corpses were buried during the exercise.
