The former Juventus coach, Mbadimiliano Allegri, has announced his intention to take a year of football after leaving the champions of Italy in May.

Aged 51, he has won the Serie A title in each of his five seasons since taking charge of Juventus in 2014.

"I will take a year to recharge the batteries and resume my life," said Allegri at an event in Milan.

"The last 16 years have seemed to be in a dry wringer."

Allegri, who replaced former Chelsea President Antonio Conte in Turin, has also raised the Coppa Italia four times and has qualified for two finals in the Champions League.

Previously, he had driven AC Milan to his last title in Serie A in 2011 and had been badociated with a return to San Siro, as well as a stint in the Premier League.
