In a new editorial for the Daily Telegraph, the brunette beauty explained that she was humiliated and her appearance was attacked by trolls on Instagram.

“Once a lady kept leaving comments telling me I’m ugly. And look, I’m not a model, but I think I wash really well, ”she wrote.
“I couldn’t help but think that maybe her comments had more to do with how she saw herself, rather than anything about me,” she continued.
“Understanding that and letting him go with compassion was not easy the first time around. But it gets easier.

Melissa recently spoke about the important role privilege plays as she continues to champion diversity on television.
The 39-year-old shared a quote on Instagram on Thursday, which read: “Privilege is not the presence of advantages and advantages. It is the absence of obstacles and barriers.
Melissa, who is of Chinese-Singaporean descent, accompanied the quote with a caption addressing minority Australians.

“I recently had a chat with a friend about the challenge of explaining why representation, diversity and inclusion are important, to people who don’t understand them,” she said.
“This wonderfully succinct statement rings clear to me, especially as this resonant clarity can arouse so much pent-up suffering.”
She then described herself as an activist who strives to stand up for others.
