Match Factory sells Marco Bellocchio's 'The Traitor' around the world – Variety

The Match Factory reached agreements on Marco Bellocchio's "The Betrayer" with most of the world, following the premiere of the Cannes Mafia contest, which propelled the photo to second place Italian.

In addition to the previously announced acquisition of "The Traitor" by Sony Pictures Clbadic for North America and Latin America, Scandinavia, Australia and New Zealand, Match Factory has ensured distribution on more than 20 territories of the biopic well received Tommaso Buscetta, the first member of the Cosa Nostra to break the oath of silence of the Sicilian mafia.

"The Traitor", whose budget is estimated at about $ 12 million, is a co-production of the Italian companies IBC Movie and Kavac Film with Rai Cinema, the French company Ad Vitam Production, the German company Match Factory Productions and the Brazilian company Gullane.

Ad Vitam will release "The Traitor" in France on November 6th.

Pierfrancesco Favino interprets the role of Buscetta who, in 1984, decided to start cooperating with Italian prosecutors and, later, American, after a war in the Cosa Nostra that caused the death of members of his family. He turned against the Corleonesi faction during the first big "betrayal" in the high ranks of Cosa Nostra.
