Manuel Pellegrini is aiming for an FA Cup Cup as West Ham prepares to travel to AFC Wimbledon's League One side in the fourth round of the competition on Saturday night.
The Hammers have not raised a trophy for 39 years and, sitting at the mid-table, without Europe or relegation to the agenda this season, they are focused on the final stages.
"I think that all the teams, when you start the competition, must have this winning mentality and think that you can do it," added Pellegrini.
"It's a different competition, unique games, so anything can happen, of course we want to try and keep going as far as we can, we do not think to win it, if you want to win something you have to go by play. We must try to continue for the next round.
"You still need a little luck in the draw, now we have to do it step by step."

The AFC Wimbledon could welcome the return of Kwesi Appiah.
The six-goal striker, who beat the last minute winner in the third round against Fleetwood, trained this week following a thigh injury.
Former Charlton midfielder Scott Wagstaff is also in good shape after a calf injury, but Rod McDonald and James Hanson are about to miss the match, while loaned back Steve Seddon is tied.
Ryan Fredericks is back in the West Ham team after three months off with a calf problem.
