Feast of Senegal Senegal is the first team to qualify for the semifinal

A second-half strike from Idrissa Gueye was enough in Senegal to beat Benin 1-0 and qualify for the African Cup of Nations semi-finals.

In the 70th minute, Gueye teamed up with Sadio Mane to create some space in the penalty box before giving Saturnin Allagbe the lead.

Mane thought that he had put the result out of doubt barely five minutes later, but his effort was ruled out after a VAR audit.

However, Benin's hopes of extending the match in overtime were a fatal blow to Olivier Verdon, who was dismissed for malpractice while Gueye scored the goal.
