But Zlatan Ibrahimovichad himself responded, playing a sombrero on two defenders of the LAFC, then sent a lob home to beat Tyler Miller in the 8th minute to bring the score to 1-1.
From there, the Galaxy controlled the race and the game became more and more frugal. Ibrahimovic scored his second goal of the night in the 56th minute, taking center-back Diego Polenta to give the advantage to his team. He then completed his hat trick by dribbling the field after a feed from Favio Alvarez and shooting a low shot from far to comfort the Galaxy forward.
Vela scored his second goal in the 97th minute, but it was too little, too late, the Galaxy took the three points.
