MATTHIJS DE LIGT arrived in Turin as he completes his £ 67.5 million transfer to Juventus.
The Dutch defender, aged 19, was at the center of a fierce battle, with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain desperate to sign the young man.
But De Ligt has instead chosen to sign a five-year contract with Juventus, worth about £ 206,000 per week.
Monday night, Sky Sports Italia announced that Ajax had agreed to the sale of De Ligt.
With an agreed amount of 67.5 million pounds, the Dutchman landed in Italy with the aim of completing his medical exam on Wednesday.
And when he arrived in Turin, De Ligt signaled to the photographers a double thumbs up – obviously delighted to be able to seal his departure.
RONALDO RECEIVES HIS WISH
But this is worse news for Man Utd – who will certainly not smile because his main target has chosen to go elsewhere.
Cristiano Ronaldo will now have his wish after attempting to lure De Ligt on Juve after the League of Nations final earlier this summer.
Meanwhile, Man Utd will be forced to look elsewhere for his central reinforcements.
It is thought that Leicester defender Harry Maguire is now at the top of their list, but the Fox want more than 80 million pounds.
And yet, SunSport understands that this deal goes ahead with the player who is desperate to try his luck at United.
The transaction would include an initial payment of £ 60 million, supplemented by additions of £ 20 million.
Elsewhere in the UK, Inter Milan is gearing up to respect the valuation of Romelu Lukaku for £ 75 million – if the deal can include bonuses.
