Maurizio Sarri thinks that Roman Abramovich is still attached to Chelsea, despite rumors that he takes a more "pbadive" role.
ChelseaThe billionaire's owner has chosen not to pre-pay a hospitality box at Stamford Bridge, as disclosed by Companies House.
Abramovich got Israeli citizenship, which allows him to visit the UK without a visa up to six months at a time, but can not work in the country.
The 52-year-old Chelsea has owned Chelsea since 2003, but recent problems with his UK visa have led him to think that he would be looking to sell the club. Head coach Sarri, however, insisted that Abramovich would retain an active role at Stamford Bridge.
"He has some problems now, but he's involved with the club, with the team," said Sarri.
"He is the owner and can influence the technical staff, the club, the players, all that I think.
"In Naples (former club Sarri), President Aurelio (De Laurentiis) was not at the rendezvous every day. He was on the training ground once a month, no more. So, it's really very similar. "
Sarri revealed that his badistant, Gianfranco Zola, spoke more regularly to Abramovich, given the superior English of the former Chelsea striker.
When asked about his contact with the club owner, Sarri replied, "No more Zola than me. Because Zola speaks English better than me, of course. "
Chelsea will host West Ham on Monday night, as his bid to rank among the top four in the Premier League intensifies.
Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, graduates of the Academy, should play a key role by the end of the campaign.
The two young English talents shone in Chelsea's 3-0 win over Brighton in the middle of the week, but Sarri rejected suggestions that club officials had urged him to give both men more play time.
When asked if he was in a hurry to pick Hudson-Odoi and Loftus-Cheek, Sarri replied, "No. It's up to the players to improve.
"At this time of the season, they are cool. So I think that right now, they are really very important to us.
"But at the start of the season, Odoi had great potential but was not ready to play in the Premier League.
"Loftus the same. He had only to adapt to my football, to tactically advance for my football.
"Then he had a lot of back problems and so we had to wait for him. But now they are fresh; they are ready."
Sarri also confirmed wanting to see French striker Olivier Giroud stay in Chelsea beyond the summer.
The World Cup winner's contract will expire at the end of the season, although Chelsea has the option to extend this contract for another year.
When asked if he wanted to keep Giroud, Sarri replied, "Yes, of course. I know the club has an option for another season, so I think it will stay. "
