The mayor of Tamale, Iddrisu Musah Superior, was nearly lynched Tuesday morning after canceling a press conference organized by the youth of his party, the NPP.
The youth, composed mainly of NPP polling station officials, had organized the conference to convince President Nana Akufo-Addo to sack the mayor, but she rebelled when he appeared at the event.
Why did the mayor of Rambo choose to appear, but no matter what motivated him to make his decision considering how he was harbaded and kicked by the skin of his teeth when bodyguards escorted him to his vehicle.
Iddrisu Musah Superior, who had just returned to be calmed down in Italy, was accused of hijacking government contracts and selling to the highest bidder.
The youths eventually turned to the media and called on President Akufo-Addo to remove the mayor from his office, saying his conduct was making the government and NPP unpopular in the metropolis of Tamale.
