McDan to tap Ghana's first private wing at KIA Terminal 1

McDan Group has been licensed to operate and manage the Executive Lounge for private jets at Terminal 1 at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

The new agreement should help the company achieve its goal of improving the customer experience while developing its activities at the airport.

The Fixed Base Operator (FBO) is the airport's private jets terminal, which is distinguished from the main airport buildings and offers a range of services to customers, aircraft and private jet crews.

This is part of the efforts of the government to change the face of aviation in the country.

The McDan Group, which over the years has acquired an enviable reputation in shipping and logistics management, will now provide all of Terminal 1's ground handling services, including flight operations, air services, repairers and more. maintenance, aircraft rental, aircraft rental, aircraft salesman and operator of storage and hangar rental vessels.

The company will need to invest in the appropriate equipment and infrastructure to ensure efficient, safe and secure operations at the airport, as well as to recruit and maintain sufficient staff.

This will be the first purpose-built FBO in Ghana, offering business jet operators a secure and private alternative to the airport's main terminal.

The FBO includes a VIP lounge, a crew lounge and a flight planning office, as well as conference facilities and a hangar. Pbadengers and crew members can complete customs and immigration formalities in the same building.

The new facility will also include a restaurant, which can provide in-flight catering.
