McDonald's offers its customers free cheeseburgers for Blue Monday – here's everything you need to know.
Some think that Blue Monday could be a public relations operation, but it is generally considered the "most depressing day of the year".
Whether or not you think that the third Monday in January is particularly dark, McDonald's took advantage of the day and the week that followed to give its customers the opportunity to get their hands on free cheeseburgers for a delicious meal.

From Monday, January 21st to Friday, January 25th, users can use the fast food chain app to claim their free cheeseburger.
If you do not already have an account in the My McDonald's app, you must register to create one by providing your name and email address.
Then, from 10:30 Monday to Friday, you can add a free cheeseburger to your cart in the application located under the tab "my offers".
You can then pick up your order from the nearest McDonald's chain.
While the offer continues throughout the week, do not think you can put as many free cheeseburgers as you want.
Each customer is eligible for only one free cheeseburger. So be sure to think carefully before enjoying your free meal.

A McDonald's cheeseburger costs 99 pence and contains 300 calories.
A recent study conducted by the University of Liverpool in December 2018 found that fast food meals contain fewer calories than meals at upscale restaurants.
The researchers concluded that restaurant meals contained an average of 1,033 calories, while those in fast-food chains averaged 751.
