WEST Australians are being asked to be vigilant about the risk of measles following a confirmed illness in a person who flew between Melbourne and Perth last week.

The infected person also visited the Skakthidham Hindu Temple in Wangara.

This is the sixth case of measles in Perth this year.

Children and adults who have been inadvertently exposed are at risk of getting measles if they are not already immunized.

People should remain alert to the onset of measles symptoms for the next three weeks if they are not immunized against measles and if they are present in one of the following situations:

Thursday, February 7th:

Flight VA691 from Virgin Australia from Melbourne to Perth and arrives in Perth at 18:50;

Arrival hall and baggage collection area of ​​Perth Airport Terminal 1 from 6:50 pm to 7:50 pm

Friday, February 8 at Sunday 10 February:

Hindu Temple of Skakthidham, 58 Luisini Road, Wangara

There is currently no risk of contracting measles after visiting one of these sites, as potential exposure to measles occurred only at the specified dates and times.
