Measles alert: NSW Health issues new warning after diagnosis of two young men

Measles reached the country of New South Wales with two new cases reported, bringing the total to 40 since the Christmas period.

NSW Health confirmed Friday that two young men had been diagnosed and linked to a recent case of Dubbo imported from New Zealand.

They visited a number of locations in Dubbo, Walgett, Parkes and Wagga Wagga while they were contagious between April 26 and April 29.

Locations include:

– Emergency service of the base hospital Monday, April 29 between 12:20 and 15:15

– Woodham Service Station, Walgett on Friday, April 26 (in the afternoon) and Monday, April 29 (in the morning)

– Orana Mall Metro, Dubbo, at dinner time, Friday, April 26

– Cattleman's Motel, Whylandra Street, Dubbo on Friday, April 26 and Sunday, April 28

– BP Gas Station, Forbes Road, Parkes on Saturday, April 27 at noon

– Burringa Motel, Plumpton Road, Wagga Wagga, Saturday, April 27th

– Wagga Wagga Nautical Club, Plumpton Road, Wagga Wagga on Saturday, April 27 from 6 pm to midnight

– McDonald's Restaurant, Fay Avenue, Kooringal (Wagga Wagga) on Sunday, April 28 in the morning

– Holy Spirit Aged Care, Tony McGrane Square, Dubbo, Sunday, April 28 from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm

Measles cases have increased by 300% in the first three months of 2019, according to the World Health Organization.
