PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) – The Hawaii Department of Health has announced the confirmation of two cases of measles in unvaccinated children from Washington State.
On 16 January, health officials said they were investigating two imported cases of measles on the Big Island.
According to the Department of Health, the children, who belong to the same family, were exposed in Washington State to an infected international guest.
Visitors were asked to stay isolated and, according to the health department, the likelihood of exposure to other people is low.
Officials say no other suspicious cases have been detected.
A medical alert on 16 January advised Hawaii's health care providers to be vigilant and report potential cases of measles.
The measles epidemic in Clark County reached Tuesday 36 confirmed cases and 12 suspects.
In Oregon, an alleged exposure was reported in Deschutes County and only one case was confirmed in Multnomah County.
The Oregon Health Authority keeps a list of all possible public exhibition sites. This list can be found here.
