Meet Vignette and Philo. Amazon introduced Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne. Carnival Row characters in two featurettes unveiled today during the performance of the fantasy drama at San Diego Comic-Con. You can watch the Vignette clip above and Philo below.
The eight-part series, composed of René Echevarria, Travis Beacham and Legendary Television, takes place in a Victorian fantasy world populated by mythological immigrant creatures whose exotic homelands have been invaded by human empires. The growing population struggles to coexist with humans – it is forbidden to live, love or fly with freedom. But even in the dark, hope lives as a human detective, Rycroft Philostrate (Bloom), and a refugee fairy named Vignette Stonemoss (Delevingne) revives a dangerous affair despite an increasingly intolerant society . Vignette conceals a secret that puts the world of Philo in danger in its most important case to date: a series of atrocious murders threatening the precarious peace of Row.
The show will be launched in more than 200 countries and territories on August 30 with dubbed foreign language versions to be released later this year.
David Gyasi, Karla Crome, Indira Varma, Tamzin Merchant and Simon McBurney are also stars. Andrew Gower and Jamie Harris come back.
