Prince William remained close to several friends he met at various times in his life, including childhood and college.

He maintained friendships while getting married, having three children and preparing to become King of England one day.

Get to know his closest friends – the British slang for friends – to come.

William van Cutsem

The first is William van Cutsem. His family and the royal family are very old. His father, Hugh van Cutsem's father, met William's father, Prince Charles, in Cambridge, where they became very close.

Prince Charles is the godfather of William van Cutsem's brother, Edward. Edward even took part in the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana as a pageboy, according to Hello! magazine.

William van Cutsem grew up in Sandringham Estate in Norfolk with his three brothers. That's how he met Prince William. The two are close since.

Prince William was the usher of William van Cutsem's marriage with Rosie Ruck Keene in 2013. And Prince George, Prince William's firstborn, counts William van Cutsem as his godfather.

James Meade

James Meade and Prince William became friends at Eton, according to PopSugar. Meade's wife, Laura Marsham, and Kate Middleton would have become close friends because of the friendship between their husbands.

Meade delivered a speech at the wedding of Prince William and Middleton in 2011. Two years later, Prince William served as a guest at the wedding of Meade and Marsham.

Prince William and Kate Middleton chose Meade to be one of Princess Charlotte's godparents in 2015.

Meade and Marsham live near Anmer Hall, home of Prince William and Middleton in Norfolk. In 2018, the couple attended the services with the royal couple and the rest of the royal family in Sandringham.

Thomas van Straubenzee

Thomas van Straubenzee and Prince William both attended the Ludgroe Prep School in Berkshire. Alongside Meade, van Straubenzee was the bailiff and delivered a speech at the Middleton and Prince William wedding in 2011.

He also organized a secret "kite" party – the British version of a bachelor party – for Prince William in his family's Norfolk home. Prince William participated in Van Straubenzee's wedding in 2013 with Lady Melissa Percy as bishop. Van Straubenzee is one of Princess Charlotte's godparents.

Van Straubenzee and his wife recently divorced, which would have led Prince William and Middleton to choose sides, according to the International Business Times.

"Everyone says he does not take sides in a divorce, but it's very hard not to do it," Percey told People. "I knew it would be difficult, everyone met [since they had started dating when she was 21] in England was through him. "

Tom Inskip

Tom Inskip is another friend of Prince William of Eton. Inskip would apparently be Prince Harry's best friend, but would also be close to Prince William.

Inskip helped organize Prince William's bachelor party and was among those selected to attend the wedding receptions of Prince William and Prince Harry.

Hugh van Cutsem

Prince William is also a friend of another of van Cutsem's children, Hugh.

Her daughter, Grace, has attracted a lot of attention as a bridesmaid at the Prince William and Middleton wedding in 2011.

She appeared on the balcony, covering her ears with an unpleasant air as the bride and groom shared their first public kiss.

Guy Pelly

Guy Pelly and Princ William met in 2001 while they were hunting the fox. Pelly is a famous nightclub owner and made the headlines of his night. He helped organize Prince William's bachelor party and is the godfather of Prince Louis.

Prince William traveled to Memphis, Tennessee for Pelly's wedding with Lizzy Wilson in 2014.

Peter Phillips

Although, technically, Peter Phillips is the family – he is the son of Princess Anne, the sister of Queen Elizabeth II – which makes him the first cousin of Prince William, they are very close. You could say that they are both family and friends.
