A genius kid in Britain made headlines after it was revealed he scored higher than famous theoretical physicist Albert Einstein in an IQ Mensa test.

The IQ test, performed by Mensa Norway, is an online test that indicates general cognitive abilities, represented by an IQ score between 85 and 145, where 100 is the population mean.

Best possible score, under 18

Aarav Mehta, an 11-year-old boy from Sutton in south London, scored the highest possible score of 162 on the test. According to The Daily Express, Aarav took it when he got bored during summer vacation.

His score of 162 is not only the highest possible for children under the age of 18, but it’s also above the 160 that is believed to be Einstein’s IQ.

Talk to My London, the young brain, with an interest in mathematics, admitted it was a thing of total spontaneity through the Mensa test.

“I was bored on vacation, so I took the Mensa online test. Then I looked a bit more Mensa, ”said an enthusiastic Aarav.

“I didn’t have very high expectations [but] I was happy when I received the letter, which I did not expect. “

Ranked in the top percent of the population

Explaining the test, he said it included two documents. One was verbal reasoning, and the other was non-verbal reasoning, with pictures and diagrams.

He was the youngest in a room of almost 20 taking the test in a central London center. It took about two and a half hours to complete.

“I was very nervous when I entered the testing room, it was full of people who were much older than me. I was scared but I thought I would stay calm,” Aarav added.

To be considered among those in society with a high IQ, a Mensa test candidate must score in the top two percent of the general population. In Aarav’s case, he scored in the top percent.

Both his parents, who in addition to the young boy have a younger daughter, Reeva, work in the field of information technology (IT). Aarav’s father, Keyur, works at Google and his mother, Nikita, is employed at Sky.

Parents’ expectations exceeded

“We were hoping he would succeed at Mensa, but we were surprised at how well he scored,” said dad Keyur.

Her mother Nikita added:

“Keeping Aarav intellectually stimulated has been a challenge, especially during the lockdown. He gets bored easily. However, he is motivated to learn, including new languages.
