Meeting with his surviving companion VVIP bus during a road accident in Kintampo, which claimed the lives of more than 60 people

A survivor of the road accident gore Kintampo-Techiman explained how the accident occurred.

Akorsah Kwabena Christian was the bus driver of one of the VVIP buses involved in the accident last Friday (March 22, 2019).

Recounting what happened in an interview with Kofi TV, he said that their bus was loaded with Circle en route to Tamale.

He stated that on the Techiman road, he had seen another bus coming from the north heading towards their lane.

He added that although their driver tried to get away a bit to make room for the approaching driver, that was not enough, as the approaching bus collided with theirs.

According to him, after the accident, he would have barely heard anything until he found himself lying outside the bus with people screaming for help .

Akorsah said that he had tried to locate his master, the driver, but had discovered that he was already dead.

Many people reportedly died last Friday, March 22, 2019 as a result of separate road accidents in two regions.

Both accidents killed nearly 70 people and many others were injured to varying degrees.

The first accident occurred in the early hours of Friday (around 2 am) in the new Bono East area, as a result of a frontal collision between two buses.

A few hours later, on the same day, a second bloody accident was reported in Ekumfi Dunkwa, in the central region.

According to the police, the survivors are currently being treated at Techiman's Holy Family Hospital and the Wenchi Government Hospital.
