Social media went crazy following the announcement by Marricke Kofi Gane that he would be running for president in 2020 as an independent candidate.

The international development expert will run as an Independent Presidential Candidate (IPC).

Mr. Kofi Gane is an experienced manager in managing global funds for innovation and development.

He is also a chartered accountant and appears as a man who gives priority to accountability.

This is a pbadionate Ghanaian who believes that the nation should always be the priority, no matter the situation.

In a video released to declare his intention to challenge the 2020 presidential election, he said he was here to put Ghana first.

"I am here to give priority to Ghana, because Ghana deserves better! Because you deserve better! Because we deserve better, he stated.

Mr Kofi Gane believes that it is time to change the status quo and that young people become more involved in national issues.

"Our generation is a bridge – the only bridge left between the truncated dreams of our ancestors and the ardent hopes of unborn posterity.

"We have no choice but to disrupt every failing status quo and make Ghana work for us all." It is a heavy burden that will require more of us all collectively. God has indeed blessed our homeland Ghana. It is we who must now make it big and strong," he added.

It is notorious that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are the only two political parties to have tasted power in the Fourth Republic.

However, Mr. Kofi Gane thinks he has the necessary qualities to break this duopoly as an independent candidate.
