Injured customers protested the company's refusal to pay the value of their investments
Some Menzgold's angry customers marched through the streets protesting their blocked funds after the entity ordered it to cease operations.
Menzgold has been in hot water for a few months after the Bank of Ghana and the Securities and Exchange Commission asked him to suspend his business because they did not have a valid license.
Since then, Menzgold has struggled to pay its many injured customers the value of their gold deposits as well as all of their investments.
Last week, some customers have the intention to go down the street, but the entity asked them to abandon this plan.
Finance Minister Ken Ofori – Atta, however, confirmed that the government would not pay Menzgold 's clients who have their money stuck.
Some customers who spoke to PrimeNewsGhana.com said, "We have traveled all the way to Kumasi for this demonstration and we do not stop"
Another said "he (Nana Appiah Mensah) has not kept his previous promises, so we can not trust him, we do not back down and all we want, is our money, we have heard that he is in bed with the government, otherwise the government should go out on this issue. "
