The "severe" problem of overweight children could mean that this generation will not live as long as their parents, according to the Chief Medical Officer of Wales.

This is the country's first strategy in the fight against obesity.

The Minister of Health wants to create an environment where it was "normal and easy" for all of us to eat well and be active.

The problem of overweight and obese children is most severe in the poorest areas – and the most severe in Merthyr Tydfil.

Here, one-third of four- and five-year-olds are clbadified as overweight or obese when they enter school.

These students from Merthyr Elementary School talk about healthy eating and the importance of physical exercise at a football tournament organized by the Cardiff City Foundation.
