MESUT OZIL forgot to smile by posing for photos while he was marrying the gorgeous Amine Gulse.
The dark expression of German reflected what many Arsenal fans have seen this season after a frustrating period on the pitch.
Aged 30, Mr. Gulse married Gulse in Istanbul, the capital of Turkey, and held his reception at the Four Seasons Hotel.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his wife Emine witnessed the ceremony.
Ozil was criticized by German Chancellor Angela Merkel's chief of staff for inviting the controversial Erdogan.
Helga Braun accepted Ozil and Gulse's decision to be of a "private" nature, but she suggested that the "model" set the wrong example.
Erdogan's government has been sharply criticized by Germany, which opposes a range of human rights issues.
And Ozil was caught in a political storm after being photographed with Erdogan in London last May, just weeks away from Germany 's dreadful World Cup campaign.
Ozil looked pale at the ceremony, before the new man and his new wife went to the party.
But he made sure the stern look cracked a little as he danced alongside men hitting huge drums after saying "yes".
Arsenal's teammate Sead Kolasinac was also on Ozil's special day with his partner.
Ozil looked much happier at the pre-wedding party the night before.
The Arsenal star and the beautiful brunette shared several videos and pictures of the party in the Turkish capital.
TRADITIONAL TARIFF TURKISH
Ozil can be seen showing shady dance steps, while Amine, who was born and raised in Sweden, was beautiful wearing a wreath.
The happy couple celebrated the henna night, a traditional part of the wedding ceremony that takes place a day before the big day.
Earlier in the week, Amine, 26, was seen enjoying her chicken on a yacht with her close family and friends.
The evening of Thursday night was more formal, with dozens of guests, people of all ages filmed dancing and having fun.
The celebration included a traditional belly dancer and Turkish drums, while Amine was sitting at the head of the hall on a sumptuous pedestal topped with a gold crown.
Ozil then headed for the stage and removed the red veil that Amine wore, before the two men found themselves in the front of the stage for a traditional jig with his fiancee.
The happy couple announced Thursday that he would celebrate his wedding by making a mbadive donation to a charity.
Ozil and Amine should pay for 1,000 children around the world to be operated on.
Working with the BigShoe charity, Ozil will fund life-changing operations in developing countries for children with burns, cleft lips and clubfoot.
