Mesut Ozil revealed that he had been impressed by the Arsenal youth group – and had encouraged Unai boss Emery to not forget Emile Smith-Rowe.
The 18-year-old midfielder has announced in front of the fans during the Asian tour of last season and during the debut of the Carabao Cup and the Europa League.
Smith-Rowe was then loaned to RB Leipzig in January, but unfortunately was limited to three appearances for the club due to an injury.
However, Smith-Rowe is now fully recovered and has been included in the traveling team for the Gunners Tour in America. German playmaker Ozil is waiting for the teenager to regain his form.
"Right now, we have a lot of young players," he said.
"Yesterday, Joe Willock played with us, he really showed his quality, Eddie Nketiah, everyone knows Eddie in the team, he fights and wants to help us.
"Reiss Nelson, he had a lot of experience in Germany and he played very well during the season there.
"Do not forget Emile Smith-Rowe, he's injured so he's coming back, we also know his quality, and at Arsenal I think we're lucky to have this young player."
Willock, 19, recently impressed with his victory over German champion Bayern in Calafornia. Emery, the boss of Arsenal, expects the English international U20 to have an even greater influence in the first team of the season.
"It's a big step forward with him because he started with us pre-season last year," said Emery. "His performance today is very different from that of last year, perhaps because he knows our idea and our spirit.
"He has a great motivation and a great individual ambition to make good performances, and he listens a lot to our idea.
