Mesut Ozil sent a message to fans of Arsenal after his Gunners career peaked when he announced that he would not go to BATE Borisov for the Europa League.
The German midfielder was confirmed fit by the North London club before the announcement of the roving team, but was not included and will not fly to Belarus. He has now missed as many games as he has played this season.
Ozil went on Twitter shortly after the announcement to post photos of him in training Wednesday at Arsenal's London Colney Base.
The German wrote next to the images: "The winning team today is fun to train." He has also included hashtags for "team spirit" and "we are Arsenal".
As you can imagine, the tweet has not been very positive, fans being confused as to why Ozil will not be part of the group for his clash with BATE Borisov.
In response to the tweet, a Gunners fan wrote, "The man receives £ 350,000 a week to train only the best job in the world."
Another added: "Not yet in the team … What's going on … The fans want to know … I became a football fan just because of you, Mesut."
But others have sided with the German in the discussion and are targeting boss Unai Emery, with one writing: "What Unai Emery thinks, I'm starting to dislike this man."
Arsenal is desperate to unload Ozil because he has fallen into the hierarchy under Emery and that the problem has become huge. He missed games this season with various excuses, including illness, a knee injury and back.
The latest fallout may make us forget the Arsenal campaign in the Europa League, but it is difficult to see how it is possible to return for Ozil under Emery.
