Dr Michael Barnes, master’s student at the University of Pretoria (UP), shows that manual labor pays off in unexpected ways, as his thesis submitted for his master’s in meteorology review was converted into a Ph.D.

Barnes took the lead without wasting time in pursuit of his passion for weather as he left his mark on the widely recognized and highly respected journal “Atmospheric Research”.
Climate Dynamics was the home of its second article, another highly respected journal. His work ethic has not gone unnoticed as he juggles a full-time research position in the South African Weather Service while finding time to focus on his studies and maintain a family life.

Through all of the success and progress, Barnes’ ability to be an example to others does not come from his accomplishments but rather from his recognition of the difficult times that lie ahead for those who wish to walk the path necessary to achieve their goals.

In other graduate news, YEN.com.gh recently reported that the Facebook page, Varsity World, announced that there is a new doctor in town. Dr Mammoloro Molly Malefo now officially holds a PhD and Doctorate in Philosophy and Biotechnology. Molly graduated from the University of Pretoria.
In a Facebook post, Varsity World said:
