The Xiaomi Mi A3 is official. As every year, comes with the new smartphone model finally with a pure device of the middle clbad provided by Android from the Chinese manufacturer on the European market. Thanks to Android One is also the Mi A3 for years to be provided with updates. Xiaomi finally called prices and official material details.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 is essentially an internationalized version of the Xiaomi CC9e in China, thanks to its certification for Google's Android One program. Because of its direct cooperation with Google, Xiaomi has omitted here for once the internal MIUI and not always very popular, but instead uses a "pure" Android 9.0 "pure", as it usually does only on Google pixels. The series is used.

The device features a 6.088-inch OLED display with a drop-shaped recess at the top, which comes with 1520 x 720 pixels and immediately reveals one of its biggest "weaknesses". Despite the size of the screen, only the HD + format is proposed here. The panel is therefore not as sharp as full HD screens of similar size. In return, the lower resolution should allow a longer runtime, because in the end, you should not move as many pixels as in an FHD display.

After all, a Gorilla Glbad 5 glbad coating ensures that the panel is less sensitive to scratches and shocks. A fingerprint reader is also located under the surface of the screen, which allows to unlock the device safely. On gimmicks like rounded edges in the back and the like, Xiaomi omitted here, thankfully.

Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 Octacore SoC, which reaches a maximum clock speed of 2.0 Gigahertz with its eight custom cryo-cores. The new chip has only a few months and is manufactured by Samsung on a scale of 11 nanometers. It should therefore work more efficiently than its predecessor Snapdragon 660. The new chip is basically combined with four gigabytes of RAM, while the internal flash memory 128 gigabytes in size. Unlike the CC9e, the Xiaomi Mi A3 can easily be expanded with a MicroSD card slot.

High Resolution Cameras Despite Low Display Resolution

A focus puts Xiaomi at Mi A3 also on the cameras. While the front camera with a total of 32 megapixels dissolves, the 48-megapixel main sensor sits at the back, which captures a lot of light with a maximum aperture of f / 1.79. In addition, the separation of pixels guarantees the improvement of the quality of the image with pictures of a final size of 12 megapixels. In addition, there is a wide-angle camera with eight megapixels and a 118-degree wide field of view and a 2-megapixel sensor for depth effects.

Xiaomi missed the Mi A3 in addition to a perfectly sized battery, which should contribute significantly with a capacity of 4030mAh, allowing very decent performances here. The complete set is housed in a fully plastic case, available in the colors "Not Just Blue", "More Than White" and "Kind of Gray". Incidentally, the power supply is provided via a USB Type C connection, so that Xiaomi finally leaves the old MicroUSB of the Mi-A series. Unfortunately, you have to do without NFC technology.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 will initially be launched in Spain, where it has just been introduced, but is expected to be available in Germany in the coming weeks. For the 64 GB version, Xiaomi sets a price of 249 euros. For the version with 128 GB, 279 euros are due. The devices are not particularly economical, especially considering the HD + resolution of the screen.
