Microsoft is extending its activities to new platforms offering protection against malware: "Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection" now calls "Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection". Not only does it keep the new name, but the new strategy also has a concrete consequence: Microsoft Defender ATP is now also available for Mac.
Incidentally, this should not be confused with Defender, which is integrated with Windows 10, ATP is a separate offering for corporate customers with many more options, but the core components such as antivirus definitions are the same . It is unclear if the "clbadic" Defender also appears for the Mac, but I think it is unlikely, because it is primarily to offer companies in mixed environments a common security center.
Interested customers can now subscribe to the preview.
