A middle-aged man in Kenya is praised after proposing to build a road for his fellow villagers with simple tools like a pick-ax.
According to a report YEN.com.gh on Graphic.com.gh, a man from central Kenya received high praise after volunteering to dig a road in order to avoid villagers having to walk long to get to the nearby mall. .
Nicholas Muchami, 45, a casual worker, decided to build the road after the previous road was blocked by the landowner, who accused the villagers of violating his land.

The residents of Kaganda village in Muranga County were then forced to use an indirect route of about 4 km to get to the mall.

Muchami spent six days digging the road manually.
He cleared and leveled 1.5 km of the road and plans to complete the last stretch later after earning more money to support himself.
He told a newspaper in Kenya: "I had made desperate calls to local leaders for the construction of the road, but to no avail.
It was at that time that I decided to build it using my farm tools for the sake of women and children and to save time. "
