Mikel Arteta has officially confirmed that Arsenal signed a “young talent” to Omar Rekik.
The much-loved defender has joined the Gunners from Hertha Berlin and has already trained with Arsenal’s Under-23s.
Arteta was asked about the new signing, which went under the radar, at his press conference on Thursday ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Newcastle.
“He is a young talent that we have been following for some time and who we believe has a good future,” said Arteta de Rekik.
Arteta has also been asked to discuss Mesut Ozil’s future, with the German being linked with a move to DC United or Fenerbahce.

The Spaniard said of Ozil: “Obviously he is now free to negotiate with other clubs. We will discuss internally the best situation for him, the best in the near future, with the player. and the agent and will try to find the best solution for everyone.

The future of young forward Folarin Balogun is on hold right now with Arsenal trying to tie him to new terms.
